Hypnocoaching & EMDR
Integrating Hypnosis for meaningful change
"Hypnosis can help you release limiting beliefs, overcome unwanted behaviors and activate powerful inner resources for a positive change and well-being. In a hypnotic state you can visualize your goals and successfully program your mind with desired positive and empowering affirmations.”
My mission is to help you resolve your particular challenge more quickly and easily than you ever thought possible.
My background in hypnosis, EMDR, coaching and psychotherapy helped me to develop a deep and complex understanding of what holds people back from change, while using hypnosis as a powerful tool to bypass blocks so they can build happier and more satisfying lives.
During hypnosis I use meditative techniques and language to help a person move forward. Hypnosis should never be seen as a quick fix, but instead, as an additional tool to help people make changes.
Hypnosis can be very helpful in addressing various challenges:
- weight loss, binge eating
- unwanted habits
- anxiety & stress
- confidence
- motivation
- concentration
- etc.
Every person has the ability to change their lives in a meaningful way. Most people, however, just need a little bit of help finding effective ways to bring about those changes. Through this method, you will uncover the unconscious reasons you fail to reach your goals and develop effective strategies for bringing about those changes.
Your First Hypnotherapy Session
A typical first session lasts 45 minutes and focuses on gaining an understanding of one specific issue of your choosing followed by the induction of a hypnotic trance when it is mutually agreed upon. I will go over your history, gain an in-depth understanding of the issue and attempt to understand why this struggle started. Much of the first session will focus on reasons why certain behaviors, struggles or patterns persist so I can determine what kind of hypnosis, should be utilized to best address this issues. Before starting the hypnotic induction, I will discuss how hypnosis will be used in the session and give the client the opportunity to discuss any questions the client may have about the use of hypnosis or the process.
After the client and I have discussed the clients concerns, I will start the hypnotic induction. The type of hypnosis I practice is Ericksonian Hypnosis, which addresses the unconscious mind. It includes the use of deep relaxation techniques and metaphors aimed at helping the client tap into their internal resources in order to make the changes that they would like to address.
Combining Hypnosis & Coaching
After the first session, you and I decide together the best way to work together to make sure that you makes the most progress. Generally, short-term hypnosis is best for singular struggles such as smoking cessation or simple habits, and usually
I combine the use of hypnosis and coaching techniques since most people's difficulties are intricate, interconnected, and complex.
A person may want to lose weight, but this is complicated by their negative self-image or problems in relationships. They might want to quit smoking, but find themselves compelled to do so because of ongoing anxiety or low self-esteem. Or perhaps a person can't sleep at night, and the relaxation techniques used in hypnosis can address the sleep issue, but the underlying anxiety continues to interfere with his or her work and daily life. Therefore, I attempt to work in a way that is flexible and organic, striking a balance between deep analytic work to get to the root of the problems, while using hypnosis for specific changes along the way.
EMDR - (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
What is EMDR?
EMDR was developed in 1987 by Dr. Francine Shapiro. It is a research-backed integrative method to overcome psychological blockades and transform trauma.
How does it work?
EMDR uses our understanding of neuroscience to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories more effectively. It works by helping to reprocess traumatic memories to make them less emotionally charged and overwhelming. EMDR uses visual, auditory, or tactile rhythmic side-to-side movements in order to stimulate the brain bi-laterally and stimulate reprocessing of help it reprocess the memories in a more adaptive way.
EMDR has been shown to not only reduce negative trauma symptoms like intrusive thoughts, nightmares, and flashbacks, but also help clients to feel like they are able to let go of past events that have been keeping them stuck. While originally developed as a treatment for trauma, EMDR has also been shown by research to be an effective treatment for anxiety, grief, eating disorders, and much more.
